Craggy Gardens

This painting was inspired by a trip we took to North Carolina a few years ago and is based on a trail called Craggy Gardens in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our trip took place in mid October, and we walked through during the fog and intermittent rain.  The forest was still very green in spots and barren in others. The darkness with some light filtering through was like entering a forest lair by way of a beautiful garden path.
